Simmons convicted over Rix's Creek fatality

RICHARD Wayne Simmons has been convicted and sentenced for an incident that resulted in the death of a worker at the Rix's Creek mine in New South Wales in December 2016.

 The defendant’s conviction and $90,000 fine in the District Court of New South Wales followed a prosecution by the NSW Resources Regulator.
