A HAUL truck at a Queensland open cut coal mine suffered a steering component failure in the articulation area, causing the truck to slew and run into the road bunding.

The retaining bolts of the right-hand steering cylinder failed and allowed the retaining pin to fall away.

An investigation by the Queensland Mines Inspectorate found the retaining bolts of the right-hand steering cylinder failed and allowed the retaining pin to fall away.
