THE NEW South Wales Independent Planning Commission is considering approvals for three coal projects that could create an extra 457.9 million tonnes of carbon emissions before the end of summer, according to the Lock the Gate Alliance.

In 2019, the IPC factored climate change into conditions.

The projects are Glencore's Mangoola extension, Australian Pacific Coal's Dartbrook undergoing mining modification, and Glencore's Glendell continued operations project.
