Regulator pursuing prosecution of Moolarben over flyrock incident

THE NEW South Wales Resources Regulator is pursuing its legal action against operator Moolarben Coal Operations and one of its former contract workers for alleged breaches of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 at the Moolarben mine in 2017.

The alleged offences have a maximum penalty of $1.5 million.

The NSW Resources Regulator's annual report for 2020 reveals Moolarben Coal Operations is the only coal company currently being prosecuted by the regulator.
