Samarco toll keeps rising

THE death toll from the Samarco accident in Brazil has climbed to 13, with joint venture partners BHP Billiton and Vale facing a clean-up bill worth more than $A7 billion.

In an update this morning BHP said the disaster had claimed 13 lives and a further six people were unaccounted for. Early clean-up work has started and monitoring and repair of the existing dam structures...
