Leg breaker raises jumbo issue

A MINER was struck by an isolation valve at the end of a hose on a development jumbo that was being trammed at an underground mine, leaving him with a suspected broken tibia and fibula.

As the jumbo was being trammed into position the hose failed to unwind, tensioning the hose line. The tension broke off the fitting, which hit the operator on the left leg leaving him with serious injuries....
