AUSTRALIAN geoscientists may be good at finding natural resources but not so good at finding jobs, according to the latest AIG Australian geoscientist employment survey.

It is an old joke but many good geologists ended up as taxi drivers.

In a gloomy showing the unemployment rate among Australian geoscientists at the end of 2016 was 14.4% and the underemployment rate 19.5%, up marginally from 13.9% and 18.8% in September.
