The House of Representatives Industry, Innovation, Science and Resources Committee inquiry is looking at how regional businesses can better benefit from the mining sector, in regards to the procurement of goods and services and the appropriateness of payment terms offered by miners to suppliers.
The committee has already held public hearings in Central Queensland, the Northern Territory and regional New South Wales.
Launched by the Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Matthew Canavan, the committee is chaired by former Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce.
