Fire forces worker to jump from basket

A WORKER in an elevated work basket at a New South Wales underground mine was force to leap to the ground when the loader the basket was attached to caught fire.

The fire affected loader and its elevated work basket.

A nearby spotter saw the smoke and flames coming from the loader and raised the alarm. As the worker went to lower the basket the fire intensified. In the end the worker had to jump from the basket...
