The New South Wales Court of Criminal Appeal has agreed $75,000 is not a big enough penalty for Macmahon Mining Services for a fatal mining incident at the CSA copper mine in Cobar in 2013, quashed the original penalty and imposed a fresh fine of $375,000.

Macmahon Mining Services was convicted in the state's District Court on August 19 2016 for causing the death of 41 year old Jeremy Mathew Junk on March 16, 2013.
