A PLAN by Western Australia’s government to modernise the state’s environmental protection act has been welcomed by the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies for its capacity to cut costs for industry and government and slash timeframes.

Environment Minister Stephen Dawson wants interested community and industry stakeholders to take the time to reflect on the paper and give feedback.

Proposed amendments to the 33-year-old Environmental Protection Act come as part of a government service priority review and the Streamline WA initiative.
