WESTERN Australia’s Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety has warned supervisors and workers to keep their cool and manage the risks of heat stress and heat stroke at work as the temperature rises over summer.

DMIRS director of mines safety Andrew Chaplyn said the extremes of WA's climate made heat stress and heat stroke a significant risk to be managed across the state's mining and exploration operations.
