A WORKER lost parts of his fingers at an underground metal mine in New South Wales last week after his hand got caught in the chain sprocket on a production charge-up unit.

The contract stope charger was trying to adjust the hose pusher mechanism on the unit and had removed the safety guard when another worker moved the mechanism in the charge basket.
