EPA gives nod to Warrawoona

WESTERN Australian Environmental Protection Authority chairman Dr Tom Hatton has the Warrawoona gold project be approved, subject to eight conditions, including a requirement that proponent Calidus Resources pays $1562 per hectare for clearing 398ha of habitat used by resident northern quoll, Pilbara olive python, brush-tailed mulgara and Ghost bat populations.

The Warrawoona gold project

The final decision on the project rests with WA environment minister Stephen Dawson.

Warrawoona is in the Pilbara region about 20km south of Marble Bar.
