Dislocated shoulder while trying to connect hose to CM

A WORKER sustained a 75mm laceration to his arm and dislocated his right shoulder when he lost control of an energised water hose at a New South Wales underground coal mine.

The worker attempted to flush the line by opening the ball valve but lost control of the hose.

The worker was reconnecting a 50mm hose to a continuous miner after an extra 20m long hose had been added.

A ball valve fitted to the end of the hose was closed and the line was charged with water.
