Regulator urges mine operators to ban e-cigarettes on site

THE Western Australian Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, has urged mine operators to ban e-cigarettes onsite during activities after a worker suffered serious burns when a vape spontaneously exploded.

The mine worker was onsite and travelling in a utility with two other workers when the e-cigarette device combusted. DMIRS launched an investigation and found the incident was "not unlike fireworks"...
