Callide fire cause still unknown

THE cause of a fire that occurred at 1.45pm on Tuesday in the turbine hall at CS Energy’s Callide C4 coal-fired power station in Queensland that led to power outages for 400,000 customers is still unknown.

 CS Energy said it was assessing the damage to other three units at the Callide power station.

The fire has led some to speculate that the incident could lead to the early closure of at least part of the station. Subsequently both Callide C units and 1 Callide B unit tripped and came offline....
