Local council battling Hume Coal's second tilt

THE WINGECARRIBEE Shire Council in New South Wales has told the Independent Planning Commission that Hume Coal's proposed coal project would be out of character with the Southern Highlands region and that historic mining in the area had left a legacy of groundwater issues in the region.
