The NSW Resources Regulator said the mine's workers were operating from the maingate as required by their coal burst Trigger Action Response Plan.

"Identification of increased coal burst potential and properly implemented TARPs reduces the likelihood of a coal burst exposing workers to risk," it said.

"TARPs should be continually reviewed to ensure that the triggers and controls remain appropriate as mining conditions evolve."
