Heat stress strikes maintenance worker

EXTREME heat led to a boilermaker repairing cracks on a dragline bucket at a Queensland open cut coal mine during a planned maintenance day ending up in hospital for two days.

The worker was admitted to hospital with heat stroke and treated in hospital for the ensuing two days.
