Constant vigilance needed to manage dust underground

UNDERGROUND coal mines should not have to wait for an exceedance to review the effectiveness of their dust controls, Coal Services' Standing Dust Committee chairman Mark Shepherd has warned.

Mines should have a dedicated plan with allocated ownership to identify what may harm by disease, not just injury.
