Gold thief caught dirt-handed

A PROSPECTIVE gold thief has been sentenced to 13 months jail in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court after stealing what he thought was six shovel loads of gold bearing ore from the Kanowna Belle gold mine in December. Sadly, the material turned out to be nothing but dirt.

Kalgoorlie's gold stealing detector unit police officers are kept on their toes.
