Loader sinks in strata collapse at CHPP

A WHEEL loader was creating a ramp on a stockpile around a New South Wales open cut coal mine’s coal handling and processing plant when it drove over a soft area and a rear wheel sank.

"When working on grades and slopes, operators must be cautious when raising implements, such as buckets, and when articulating," it said.

"When planning tasks, the equipment to be used should be fit for purpose considering the operating environment and task requirements."
