No big bang after saw discovered

A POTENTIAL underground explosion was averted after a coal mine deputy found a worker using a battery-powered reciprocating saw in a hazardous zone in a New South Wales longwall mine.

The deputy immediately removed the saw and battery from the hazardous zone.
