A STRIKE-slip fault in a New South Wales underground coal mine has resulted in an outburst at the mine with 8t of coal being ejected from the face.

The outburst at the mine caused 8t of coal to be ejected from the face.

The NSW Resources Regulator said the outburst occurred during remote mining.

Power was tripped to the continuous miner due to the face gas levels. Gas monitors peaked at 1.2% carbon dioxide and 1.
