Approach bunds with caution, regulator says

A HAUL truck driver on an open cut coal mine in New South Wales was reversing up to dump a load when he drove through the dump’s windrow.

Luckily the driver was able to safely exit the truck, which was subsequently secured.

According to the NSW Resources Regulator, when approaching bunds in trucks, workers should ensure the truck is square to the bund.

Bunds should also never be used to stop trucks when reversing to dumps.
