MINING contractor at the Dargues gold mine in New South Wales, Pybar, has moved closer to underground automation with the arrival on site of the second Cat R1700 underground loader.

Owned by Diversified Minerals, the Dargue gold mine will operate two Cat R1700s from the surface via tele remote in 2020, with the Cat's to be fitted out with automation technology.
