A FLEET of 10 Caterpillar battery electric underground haul trucks is planned to be deployed at Newmont’s Tanami underground gold operation in the Northern Territory by 2024.

This is part of a US$100 (A$137) million deal between Newmont and Caterpillar.

The deal involves the electrification and automation of the fleets of  two mines on two separate continents.
