It is also Sandvik's first fully automated ITH longhole drill and conduct production drilling, service support and mechanised slot raising.

Fitted with high capacity onboard boosters and a drilling module for fan or parallel 90-216mm diameter longhole drilling, the DU412i has hammer pressure up to 28 bar that gives it higher penetration rates and drilling capacity.

In the V-30 slot raising mode the DU412i uses a V-30 head to carry out mechanised reaming of 30" diameter slot raises.

In this configuration the unit is delivered with blind bore feed and split centraliser, spaced out RH6250 rotation head and PC225 carousel.

A KSU34 onboard booster and single-hole automation can also be used for pilot hole drilling and reaming.

According to Sandvik, the automation and teleremote operation capabilities on the DU412i increase productivity and product safety, with one operator able to watch over multiple units.
