Kidston road blocks lifted

NORTH Queensland’s $1.05 billion Kidston hydro and solar project has been given special powers and granted critical infrastructure status, under a $386 million Powering North Queensland Plan by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk designed to reduce red tape road blocks to fast track jobs and give the renewable energy project even greater certainty.

Not only is the project going to bring jobs to Queensland’s north, it will also bring much needed watts to a power starved region. This lack of power makes it difficult for the metal mines in the region...
