The third generation VRT unit works in conjunction with other Coal Services’ business units such as Mines Rescue to provide virtual learning environments. Its trainers incorporate those virtual environments into their training courses.

It offers advanced training for mine workers and operators who are required to perform potentially dangerous tasks, often in hazardous environments, without the risk of injury.

The technology can ensure quick and easy transfer of trainees from a virtual environment to a real work site with minimal disruption and no down time.

Scenarios can be repeated with the press of a button, with flexibility to vary their location within the mine to ensure ongoing relevance of the VR tool for refresher training.

Coal Services has received good response from the US and China for tours of its facilities and guidance regarding the implementation of equivalent hi-tech training systems.
