The exhibition period ends on July 9, with Centennial seeking approval to continue extraction of up to 1.8 million tonnes per annum by a year to the end of October, 2015.

While coal companies typically try to provide as much notice to planning department officials as possible, Centennial only put the Airly thermal coal mine back into full production three months ago with the mine put into care and maintenance in December 2012.
