The three-day technical program, on July 1-3, with host over 35 presentations with unique workshops built into the technical program. The event is being organised by the AusIMM, the University of New South Wales, and the Mine Ventilation Society of Australia.

Robertson is an Anglo American veteran who is familiar with ventilation issues across underground mines, especially in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

Other speakers include Morvent Mining director and associate mining professor of mining engineering at the University of New South Wales, Dr Roy Moreby, who will speak on the rationale for use of three heading gate roads in Australian underground coal mines.

“A significant feature of this three day conference will be the presentation of case studies from major events and novel solutions to mine site challenges,” according to the organisers.

“In addition, workshop sessions held within the program will allow for opportunities to raise concerns facing the industry and allow for an open discussion on maintaining the industry’s reputation of safety and innovation.

“The conference program will also feature a trade exhibition and various networking opportunities.”
