Allight said the MS6K-10, MS9K-10 and MS12K-10 units boasted several improvements on preceding models, including a more compact design, cheaper operation, hydraulic mast operation, a single point operation console and hydraulic mast slew.

The units also featured new safety enhancements, including fully bunded, sound attenuation and Tier 2 and stage 2 emission compliant Perkins engines.

National sales manager Shaun McCullough said the models' wall overhang facility - which allowed a tower to be positioned on the edge of a shaft or steep decline to provide downward lighting - was particularly advantageous.

"This feature allows for the mast to be manoeuvred hydraulically, making operation of the unit far more efficient and safer, allowing for the user to operate the mast, lights, engine and light title from one position," he said.

The towers' new design also permitted easier maintenance access, while the 60Hz and 1800rpm engine options provided greater flexibility in model selection.
