The Canadian company said this week that the decision by the State Administration of Work Safety will have a “direct impact” on its growing business efforts in the country. Late last month, SAWS installed underground miner tracking safety standards as part of a nine-pronged plan that includes “checking for potential accidents, technological innovations, and rescue efforts to enforcement of regulations and laws as well as personnel training”

Additionally, the Chinese province of Shanxi recently required monitoring and communication systems in all of its underground mines.

“The global mining industry is enjoying a rapid growth and mining operations are under pressure to enhance mine safety measures,” said iPackets president Naiel Kanno.

Regarding the new country-wide mine safety mandates and Shanxi communications system requirement, he added: “These two announcements will have a significant impact on our growth and quest of being the premium two-way wireless mine safety solution servicing the mine safety industry globally.”

iPackets, which produces the real-time two-way wireless communications innovation iPMine to monitor miners’ movements above and below ground, said it demonstrated its system to the seventh largest coal mining operation in China, based in Shanxi, in May of this year with positive results.
