While coal mining is not as big a business in NSW compared to Queensland in the overall scheme of the state's economy, the Iemma Government will still receive $A440 million in royalties in 2007-08.

While the Queensland Government boosts its budget through a hike in coal royalty rates, the NSW Government will keep its 7% royalty rate, instead relying on higher pricing for coal to boost its coffers.
