Pack, who will officially began serving in the position on May 18, is a 23-year veteran of the energy sales and marketing industry, having previously held positions with Enron Global Markets, Consol Energy, Cannel Industries, Maple Meadow Mining and New River.
Originally from West Virginia, he earned his mining engineering degree from West Virginia University; he now serves on his alma mater’s College of Engineering and Mineral Resources Advisory Committee.
“Scott’s experience in the coal and energy markets, along with his successful approach to developing a strategic sales team, is vital to our growth,” Foundation Coal president Jim Roberts said of Pack’s appointment.
“Scott’s knowledge of production, preparation and transportation of coal to both national and international markets will enable Foundation to further maximise shareholder value.”
Foundation, with 13 mines in four US states, produces about 70 million tons per year.
