The hearing will be held at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel, 360 Union Boulevard, in Lakewood.
The standard was issued March 9 to improve the protection of miners during and after underground coal mine accidents and evacuations.
MSHA's emergency temporary standard is aimed at strengthening mine safety practices in four key areas: training, accident notification requirements for mine operators, self-contained self-rescue devices and lifelines. This is only the third time since 1978 that MSHA has pursued an emergency temporary standard.
