BHP writes down NSWEC as wet weather hampers met coal production

WET weather events and unplanned maintenance reduced BHP’s metallurgical coal production by 5%. The company also decided to recognise an impairment charge of between US$1.15 billion and $1.25 billion in relation its NSW Energy Corporation thermal coal operations.
