NEW York-listed coal companies remained largely mired yesterday in an otherwise flat market as commodity trading continues to struggle with European financial crisis pressures. Patriot Coal took a 9.4% hit Monday to close at $US2.21 while James River Coal slipped 6.6% to $2.26.
