McLanahan will be giving Minexpo 2012 attendees even more opportunities to visit with the company’s sales and engineering experts by exhibiting at two different locations.

The larger of the two locations will feature full scale equipment, including a DDC-Sizer, dewatering screen and separator combination, sampling system, universal impact crusher and a display of polymer wear parts. Additional equipment lines showcasing McLanahan’s capabilities in crushing, feed preparation, washing and water management will be represented by 3D models of the equipment.

Representatives from McLanahan’s sales, engineering, human resources and executive management will be at the exhibits to talk to those interested. Various departments and divisions will be in attendance including the mineral processing, sampling systems, polymers and environmental divisions, as well as the newly formed process engineering group.

Engineering and sales from the company’s Australian office will be on hand to answer questions, as well as the director of McLanahan’s South American operations. “Stop by during the show and learn how McLanahan can assist you with a custom solution for your application,” the company says.

Minova

Minova will be jointly exhibiting with Orica at Minexpo International 2012. Roof control, ventilation management, water control, rapid tunnel advance, fragmentation, and vibration management are among the solutions Minova and Orica will showcase at their respective booths.

Norwest

Norwest Corporation, an energy, mining and natural resources consultancy, provides a full range of services covering all aspects of mining from exploration to closure including on-site project management and staffing; owners’ engineer services; exploration and geologic resource assessment; feasibility studies; mine design and reclamation; coal process plant and infrastructure design; financial analysis and listings support; due diligence; operational improvement, monitoring and data management; hydrological, geotechnical and environmental services; and HS&E assessment.

Pillar Innovations

Pillar Innovations worked with mine safety managers and a federal mine inspector to develop a vehicle that was specifically designed for use as an ambulance. The EMU-ALR is a modified version of the popular EMU-LR (Low Rider) designed for 45in seams. The EMU-ALR features front mounted red and blue strobe lights, a padded kneeling cushion for an attendant, a polished aluminum stretcher deck with above LED lighting, plumbed emergency oxygen with wall receptacle and flow meter, and LED lit storage cabinets for supplies.

The EMU-ALT is available for mine heights of approximately 70in and above. “We are always listening to our customers, trying to figure out a way to meet their needs,” Pillar director of sales and marketing Adam Brenneman said. “This is especially true with the EMU line – we are always expanding.”

Quaker Chemical

Quaker Chemical offers solutions for suppressing dust, managing resources and addressing environmental concerns.

To alleviate industry-related issues and address MSHA and EPA concerns, Quaker has developed Dustgrip, a non-corrosive liquid that absorbs moisture from the air and allows small dust particles to combine and increase in size, making them less prone to become airborne.

“While other companies offer dust suppression products, only Quaker offers a team of experts, application engineers and chemists who are able to readily partner with customers to develop solutions,” the company says.

Patriot Coal Speed Mining longwall manager Glenn Lilly and Quaker’s mining global technical manager Nick Fowler will present the paper “Dust Control Challenges and Technology Available for Control” at Minexpo on September 26 at 10.15am Pacific time.

SAFEmine

SAFEmine, based in Switzerland, provides traffic awareness and collision avoidance systems for surface mining equipment and will be featuring two new products at Minexpo this year.

The first product, called SafetyCentre System, addresses a major issue becoming evident in the cabs of surface mining equipment – too many displays and alarm sources resulting in operator overload. It provides an “all-in-one” approach to situational awareness for heavy equipment operators by integrating several safety technologies into one interface. The second product is an advanced and unobtrusive driver fatigue detection system that provides real-time alerts for serious fatigue and/or distraction-related events that occur while operating heavy equipment.
