The federal agency said its team would be visiting Claysville, Pennsylvania, central to several Pittsburgh 8 underground mines, on August 28 and 29.

The mobile unit will be at the Claysville Volunteer Fire Department to conduct the free screenings.

Individuals can be tested between 7am and 2pm on August 28 and noon and 7pm on August 29.

All coal miners are encouraged to stop by the mobile and participate in the testing, which takes about 25 minutes and includes a short questionnaire, a chest x-ray and a spirometry (breathing) test.

Blood pressure screening will also be available.

Although walk-ins will be accepted, miners are urged to call 1-888-480-4042 to schedule an appointment.

NIOSH reminds participants that the results of the screening are completely confidential.
