Ten members of Radical Action for Mountain People’s Survival were arrested after a demonstration at Patriot Coal’s Hobet complex in Lincoln County and entered guilty pleas in Lincoln County Magistrate Court for trespassing charges, the Associated Press reported.
The group amassed fines totaling $US660 plus court costs and all must stay off West Virginia mine property for a year.
The news service said nine others pleaded guilty last week.
RAMPS last week confirmed that those nine were offered the same plea deal in lieu of bail.
One protester did not take the deal but had been released from police custody, the group added.
A total of 20 RAMPS demonstrators were arrested on July 28 during a protest against mountaintop removal mining.
Patriot Coal did not release a public statement on the deals, nor did it comment last month on the demonstration.
