Prok and Beltreco become Sandvik Materials Handling

SMH is one of five divisions of Swedish-headquartered Sandvik Mining and Construction, which is in turn part of major Swedish industrial group, Sandvik AB. The other four divisions are Sandvik Tamrock, VA-Eimco, Driltech Mission and the newly formed Sandvik Rock Processing.

“The Sandvik Materials Handling Group incorporates the largest bulk materials handling portfolio in the world, including spare parts supply, total servicing capabilities and full capital equipment from conveying systems to shiploaders,” the managing director of SMH in Australia, Jari Yli-Uotila, said in a statement.

“With over 22 locations nationwide, and in excess of 700 employees, the new company in Australia will incorporate the already established and respected brand names of Prok, Beltreco, Roxon and Voest-Alpine.”

All Prok and Beltreco offices around Australia have been transformed into “Sandvik Materials Handling Centres” providing the company’s full range of products, services and technical engineering support.

“SMH’s capabilities extend past the traditional supply and service structure, to offer the lowest possible cost of bulk materials handling through total operational and management systems,” Yli-Uotolia said.

“SMH has developed life cycle models in the materials handling industry which are tailored towards ensuring maximum results.”
