Testing dates begin July 15 and 16, when NIOSH staff will visit the Walmart in Kittanning.

On July 17 the unit will make its way to the Rosebud Mining Homer City office and on July 18 miners can be tested in Penn Run outside Coy’s Store and Pizza Shop.

The Holiday Inn in Indiana will be home to the unit on July 19 as well as Monday, July 22.

NIOSH will be at Amfire Mining’s Madison mine in Mineral Point on July 23.

RoxCoal will host the unit at its safety operations and training building in Somerset on July 24 and 25, though both days will be limited online to RoxCoal staff.

Wrapping up the Pennsylvania tour will be a stop at the Hampton Inn in Somerset on July 26.

All of the testing days will be from 7am to 7pm.

All coal miners are encouraged to stop by the mobile unit and participate in the free health exam, which takes about 25 minutes and includes a short questionnaire, a chest X-ray and a spirometry (breathing) test.

Blood pressure screening is also available.

NIOSH notes that while walk-ins will be accepted, miners are urged to call 1-888-480-4042 to schedule an appointment.

As always with NIOSH exams, the results are completely confidential.
