Russian coal continues to grow

RUSSIAS coal industry continues to strengthen with coal exports growing 15.8% from 2005 for the J...

According to Russian analysis service AKM, exports to date this year have grown from 50.22 million tons to 58.16Mt.

The increase represented a 14.7% lift in export revenues to $US2.72 billion.

Of the coal exported 5.75Mt went to nearby CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries and a total of 52.4Mt was exported to “far-abroad countries”
