The two-day event at the Hilton Garden Inn-Southpointe, Canonsburg, is hosted by The Pittsburgh Coal Mining Institute of America and The Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration.

Keynote speakers include NMA legal and regulatory affairs senior vice president Bruce Watzman, Peabody Energy’s ground control senior engineer Murali Gadde, and SME president William Wilkinson.

Other speakers include representatives from the National Institute of Safety and Health, the Mine Safety and Health Administration, Alpha Natural Resources, the United Mine Workers of America, West Virginia University and JH Fletcher.

The first day will include a student tour and reception at Bucyrus America.

Advanced paid registration is required by October 9.
