AMSI will develop a $US80 million coal mine in the Chinese Inner Mongolia Province in a joint venture with the Chinese Inner Mongolian Xilinguole region.
The mine will supply coal to a $US1 billion power station to be constructed nearby. Mine development is expected to begin in 12 months and the power station within four to five years.
Thursday last week Chinese Mine Safety minister Zhao signed an agreement of collaboration with AMSI directors and the mayor of Singleton.
AMSI director George Lianos said minister Zhao shared confidence that Australian know-how and experience in mining safety, environmental management and productivity would ensure an efficient development of the coal reserve.
“We will provide a range of services including opencut planning and development, procurement, construction, maintenance, safety education and training, operator and management education and training,” Lianos said.
AMSI is a wholly owned company of the Pegasus Group, which offers specialist services including surveying, safety management, environmental management, production management, labour hire and training.
