SA coal strike over

TWELVE days after downing tools in a bid for better wages, about 2000 coal miners in South Africa...

Reuters reported the workers - members of the United People's Union of SA and employees of Sasol Mining - called off the strike yesterday after settling their issues with the mining company.

The strike had affected production at five coal mines owned by Sasol in Secunda where up to a third of workers were involved in the action.

The Reuters report said the terms of settlement between the union and Sasol Mining were not divulged.
