Held every four years and now in its fourth decade, AIMEX is firmly established on the international mining industry calendar.

AIMEX is the flagship event within the portfolio of established industrial trade fairs staged by Reed Exhibitions.

Taking up 40,000 square metres, next year’s exhibition will be held in conjunction with a number of related events in Sydney that week.

In 2007, AIMEX attracted more than 500 exhibitors and over 12,000 visitors.

“With the global resources sector bouncing back strongly following the GFC, we expect an even better response from exhibitors and visitors for the 2011 edition,” AIMEX exhibition manager Soren Norgaard said.

“Already we have had an excellent response from exhibitors at AIMEX 2011, with serious commitments from most of our major exhibitors from the last event.”

Norgaard said the show would again have a major international presence, with pavilions from the United States, China, India, South Africa, Canada, Germany, Chile, Poland and the UK.

“Mining products and services suppliers from these countries see an event such as AIMEX as an ideal opportunity to promote themselves to one of the world’s major mining markets, and one that is undergoing sustained expansion and ongoing demand for its commodities,” he said.

Organisers are developing plans for an AIMEX mining conference, as well as working with industry organisations keen to run their own events, seminars and conferences in Sydney during the week of the event.

“AIMEX week in Sydney will be a unique opportunity for Australian and international suppliers of mining technology, equipment and services to get together with mining industry buyers and specifiers from throughout the Asia-Pacific region,” Norgaard said.

“Our integrated range of related events will mean it’s a once-in-four-years chance to explore mutually beneficial business opportunities, exchange technical information and network in an interactive business environment.”
